Mind Body and Spirit Festival
in Moseley Village
on Saturday 4th April 2009
The first Tree of Life Birmingham Mind Body & Spirit Festival will be held in Moseley Village on Saturday 4th April 2009. Many local Moseley people, shops and businesses will be involved in the event. The Festival will be a creative meeting point for anybody interested in holistic health and living.
Moseley is well-known as the City’s Bohemian Quarter because of the many artists, healthy-eating places, therapists, holistic centres and shops that abound. It is a very natural setting for the Festival, which will bring together the talents and abilities of many local Moseley people to create an inspiring day for all. It will be a chance to sample and try many different holistic workshops, talks, products and treatments. There will be beautiful local arts & crafts and lots of healthy & tasty organic food on offer to try too!
It is the biggest Mind Body & Spirit festival in the Midlands, and is attracting many best-selling authors to come and speak. There will be lots happening on the day at a variety of venues across Moseley:
St Columba Hall on the corner of Chantry Road & Alcester Road – will be the main Festival site:
10am – 7pm:
Stalls: There will be many holistic stalls offering products and treatments including Conscious Chocolate (raw, vegan, hand-made, sugar-free, healthy & delicious!), Forever Living Products, jewellery, crystals, books, holistic therapies and much more!
Talks and workshops: There will be over 20 different free workshops and talks by well-known speakers including:
Maggy Whitehouse, metaphysician, spiritual mentor and author who will be speaking on ‘The Quest of the Soul’: We yearn to follow our bliss. But first we must uncover our authentic self and the destiny that calls to us by unravelling layers of conditioning and ego-consciousness. This truly is the road to joy that leads to a life of abundance and inspiration.
Dr David Hamliton, scientist and author of ‘How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body’. He will be speaking on the mind-body connection – how thoughts and emotions effect the brain, cells in the body and even DNA. He’ll also be describing how we can use the mind to heal the body of disease and share some real examples where people healed themselves of conditions as serious as cancer.
Joginder Bola and Marketa Rozypalova, editors of ‘Tree of Life Magazine’ and directors of the Moseley Holistic Centre. They will be speaking about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and how to make it work for you. Learn how to create more success and true fulfilment in life, love and business. Discover the ideas behind this powerful Law that governs the Universe and have more fun!
Andria Falk, Breathe more joy into your life! A warm welcome awaits you in this taster workshop of Transformational Breathing. Find out how you can improve your breathing and enhance your physical, emotional and spiritual well being.
Catherine Buchan, author of ‘22 Boyfriends to Happiness’ – She is passionate about teaching others an unconventional yet powerful method of finding true love and happiness. Come along to this introductory talk and discover how you can use it to overcome your love and relationship challenges.

7pm – 10pm:
Festival Party - music, dance and fun workshops on 5 Rhythms Dance, Biodanza, Spontaneous Dance and Live Drumming.
Zen Shop – there will be talks, workshops and herbal teas on offer here happening throughout the day.
Indigo Wholefoods – will be doing a sampling of Pulsin protein superfood snacks and vegan/chemical free sports nutrition protein powders on their stall outside of the shop.
Birmingham Buddhist Centre – as part of the Festival, the Centre will be offering a free introduction to meditation at 5.15pm. A great opportunity to try out meditation for yourself and enjoy the peaceful environment of the Buddhist Centre.
